My Grandmother

My aunt just sent me this photo of my Grandma taken around 1950 in Edmonton. I've got very fond memories of her, and my Poppa (her hubby) They were living on Grandma's family farm by the time I came along.
She made the best food, especially her desserts, and had the most wonderful tales. She survived several strokes, and a couple of heart attacks. She lived to over 90 despite her health troubles. The last stroke took a huge toll, but with the support of Poppa she was able to get back into her gardens (with help) for the last couple of years of her life.

Now onto the second half of the trip home. We took lots of pictures. Had a great time, and are now just waiting for our plane. We should be boarding in about an hour. I would type more, but I'm on battery power. Pictures and catch up to come later.

Word of the Day: Boat!

In about 14 hours, I'm gonna be on a boat! The long awaited and much anticipate cruise begins today. I should be asleep already, but I have trouble sleeping the night before travel, so I'm hoping writing about it, will help me get some of that energy out. The kids still don't know where we're going. All our bags our packed, we're ready to go.

This is a first cruise for me. 10 days in the Caribbean. Hopefully I'll have a tonne of great pictures to share when we get back. And...it's off to bed.
