Yay!
Just had to share. I love Evanescence. There's a lot of bands out there with the same style of sound, but each lead singer has their own specific...something...that they add. Welcome back Evanescence!!!

So, I figure if I'm going to be taking my blogging more seriously I should see if I can do it mobily.

Progress!
I was reading this article on The Wild Hunt. I'm excited as well as a little apprehensive all at the same time. I think it's a great step forward for Students, Schools, and all Pagan-kind. Then there's the other side of it. How many non-Pagan students/Faculty are going to respectfully stay quiet on this?
I've been relatively lucky over the past 15 years in my workplaces. While my beliefs may not be 100% understood, I've never had any outright clash over them with anyone I work with/for. I've been able to take my celebrated "holidays" without too much flack.
My hope is that society is finally getting to a higher level of tolerance. I'm not dumb enough to believe there will be global acceptance overnight, but this is a step in the right direction.

New Beginnings on a Sad Day
While this site is getting a new start, Canada has lost a great man. Jack Layton died today. At first I wasn't sure what I felt about this. I think I was originally just in shock. He was going to be the man to turn the country around. For the first time in a long time, we had someone fighting for the little guy on Parliament Hill. We had a solid opposition to keep the gov't in check. Speculating what will happen to the party or the country at a time like this seems cold. But they're hard facts that weigh on more than just my mind I'm sure.
My deepest condolensces go out to his family. Losing a loved one is a tragedy that when faced, is the most horrid thing one can imagine. Jack was 61, had beaten cancer once, and had led his party to the number 2 spot in Canada. He dedicated his life to bettering Canada, and Canadian's lives.

New Beginnings
A new look and feel, a new blog, just shiny and new everything. And what better way to start a new blog than by rambling about...nothing really. It's almost 4am, and I should have been asleep hours ago, but I was bitten by the design bug. I don't think I like the background I created for this blog. I'm very happy with the title though. That jumped into my head, and back out pretty quick.
Over the next couple of days, I'll work on the look and feel more. I also want to start building up my bookmarks again so I actually have fodder for the keyboard, and can write about more than just...rambling nonsense.
And gadgets...widgetty things. Need some of those as well. Welcome all to the new Raising Avalon.
